Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and motivated Intern to join our Cancer Immunology and Immune Modulation Research department located at our Ridgefield, CT facility. As an Intern, your primary focus will be to assist in running cellular-based assays (primary and cell lines) to test both small molecule inhibitors and antibodies for effects on immune-cancer cell interactions and generate key data to support drug discovery efforts.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Work in a collaborative research environment
Understand how studies support project goals
Conduct cellular and molecular based in vitro assays using (primary and cell lines) according to protocols.
Perform data analyses in timely manner
Learn how to formulate hypotheses to guide future experimentation
Clearly communicate progress and findings to the team

Requirements:

Must be an Undergraduate, Graduate, or Professional Student in good academic standing.
Must have completed 12 credit hours within a related major and/or other related coursework.
Overall, cumulative GPA (from last completed quarter) must be at least 3.200 (on 4.0 scale) or better (No rounding up).
Major must be related to the field of internship.

Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:

Experience in cell culture as well as cell and molecular biology techniques
Good knowledge of cancer and immune cell biology.
Basic knowledge of data analysis (e.g. spreadsheets)
Experience in conducting small research projects
Understanding of innate immune cell biology is a plus
