Job Description Summary
We are hiring an engineering co-op to support projects in the Materials and Process Technology Group related to Reprocessing, Biocompatibility and Chemical Compatibility for our ultrasound products. The successful candidate will work directly with cross-functional and international teams on existing and new projects. We are looking for a creative, energetic, and enthusiastic individual who is interested in learning about and taking part in a variety of engineering activities that take place in a medical device manufacturing facility.
Job Description
Essential Job Duties
- Follow established written test protocols
- Operate laboratory test equipment including scales, vacuum pumps, tensile testers, hand inspection tools, cameras, mixers, ovens, durometers and dispensers
- Utilize standard medical industry cleaning, disinfection and sterilization techniques of ultrasound probes
- Observe regular safe chemical laboratory practice for mixing and handling chemicals and polymers.
- Process ultrasound probe analog devices and materials to evaluate chemical activity
- Document results by photographing (under a microscope) intermediate steps of the process
- Provide regular status updates to supervisors and project team
- Record, evaluate and report on test results using Microsoft Office Applications (MSWord, MSExcel, MSPowerpoint).
Qualifications Required
- US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.
- A current college student pursuing a science or engineering degree in biomedical, chemistry, biology, microbiology, or material science.
- Previous work experience of any kind is preferred but not required.
- Must have ability to learn

- Must have the ability to generate written communication that is clear and concise.
