OmniVis (HQ: South San Francisco), wants to put the lab in the palm of everyone's hands.

We are committed to providing a hardware device, with disposable test kits, to reduce the detection process of infectious diseases to 30 minutes. Our data gathering and reporting tools provide insights regarding disease hotspots, enabling earlier warnings before wide-scale outbreaks occur. OmniVis developed a solution for vulnerable communities for early detection of cholera and COVID-19.

The internship:

OmniVis is fast-growing and we are looking for an independent Computer Science intern to join our team in January. You will be working together with your dedicated mentor, our Electrical Engineer, and our external team of computer scientists on a daily basis.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about UX/UI, and wants to deliver web portals that are easy to use, and look great.

Major responsibilities:

As a Computer Science Intern, you will be working in a small but extremely passionate team. You will need to be a strong communicator, that is able to advise and implement new ideas and techniques. The ideal intern will have an approach that fits our values and culture with shared responsibilities in the following:

You will be developing a system admin portal for the OmniVis cholera solution.

You will pay attention to the user interface and user experience of the web platform.

Work together with our Electrical Engineer, to determine priorities, work together to tackle any issues you run into, and learn on the go.

Learn more about what it is like to work in a startup environment, and how to professionally communicate, collaborate and interact with people with different backgrounds and responsibilities.

What you will bring:

You are in the process of getting a degree in computer science.

Experience working with React JS, Go, and Amazon web services or Azure.

Preferably you have some experience with UX/ UI.

Having experience with raspberry pi, embedded programming, and Typescript is a big plus.
